6 Days Loita Hills Hiking Safari
Day 1: Nairobi – Maji Moto Campsite
Leave Nairobi after breakfast and you drive to Masai town Narok before you drive to Mara/Maji Moto junction where you will have lunch and later take 7km. hike to the Maji Moto campsite (3-4hrs.) You will take an afternoon hike in the surrounding hills and bath in the natural hot spring which give the name of this area. Dinner and over night in Maji Moto campsite.
Day 2: Maji Moto Campsite – Letikunyi Campsite
After breakfast, start a 18km trek through the Maasai plains following the Masai trails where thorny shrubs give shelter to some plain animals like zebras, Gazelle, Wildbeests, and other animals as well as bird species that can be encountered to Letikunyi. You will also meet Masai herdsmen taking care of the livestock as nomadic pastoralism is their way of living. Dinner and overnight in Letikunyi campsite. 7hrs
Day 3: Letikunyi Campsite – Morijo Campsite
After breakfast, start your 16km. hike through the plains before passing a small Masai modern town Narosura village in the morning where fresh supplies out of stork can be replaced to Morijo near the Dorobo Masai village. Dinner and overnight at Morijo campsite. 6-7 hrs.
Day 4: Morijo Campsite – Entosapia Campsite
Break the camp in the morning and walking to Entulele School where you will visit the and take a short moment to interact with pupils and the continue with the hike through Engutoto villages before you walk through the bushes where sometimes you might see Baboon, Black and White Colobus monkeys and antelopes on the way to Entosapia for dinner and overnight in a campsite.
Day 5: Entosapia Campsite – Enchoroi Village Campsite
After breakfast, you will take a 3 hrs hike to Enchoroi village where you will visit a Enchoroi Primary School and the villages around to interact with Masai community. Lunch will be served by our cooks, and you will get to the Enchoroi village campsite later in the afternoon and take a rest in the evening for shower, diner and overnight.
Day 6: Enchoroi Village Campsite – Nairobi
Today you will have an early breakfast and start an early morning walk up along the trail on the ridge leading to the Great Rift Valley view point. After a panoramic photo moment from the top, descend the Ngurumani escarpment before the sun get too hot to the Nguruman village at the bottom of the valley. 4-5 hrs. This area might be very hot because of its location at a low altitude take a transfer to Nairobi via Lake Magadi where minerals known as soda Ash is extracted and then drive on with a lunch break on the way to Nairobi here you will arrive in a late afternoon.
